I came across your post on grocery costs on the sidebar. It’s an interesting conversation. My feeling is that grocery costs are fair, it’s everything else we pay for that has gone up in price. I’ve done a lot of research on consumer culture and food history and we actually spend a MUCH smaller portion of our income on food than people did at other points in history. It’s just that our housing, entertainment, and energy costs have skyrocketed. And also with things like corn subsidies (at least here in the US) certain foods are artificially cheap while those that tend to be more nutritious and environmentally friendly are not. Just my 2 cents for the day. I’m sure you are swamped but I sent you a message through your blog a couple of days back about your blog makeover services. I’m having someone do a new header for me but was wondering if you consult on other aspects (i.e. the rest of the layout). Let me know.

OH, the Magic Bullet! It’s a lovely piece of equipment. We used it all the time to make baby food for our twins.
