Burger and Fries: Grease in Moderation
Well it was a busy day at the house after work. We had to prepare the pool for winter, cut the grass and go for a walk. I didn’t have anytime to cook so I thought it was a good excuse for one of my favorite take out joints.
Even though I tend to call myself somewhat of a healthy eater and try to eat form all the food groups daily, every now and again you just have to break away and indulge.
This double cheese burger is amazingly juicy and very flavorful. With my favorite toppings ketchup , mustard, relish and sauteed onions…. What a gem! Not too mention killer fries with a little crunch and some hearty coleslaw and fresh cracked pepper.

After devouring this meal…. the best you can do is lie down on the couch and let your stomach stretch. It does it too me everytime even though I keep coming back for more. While I don’t want to promote eating this food as a good thing - it is definitely not a bad thing in moderation.
What I would like to hear from everybody is what are their favorite burger toppings. The toppings that are a must have for you!

I love that you believe in the moderation rule!
My favorite topping is a recipe for McDonald’s hamburger sauce. I put it on veggie burgers because I don’t do red meat.

I love fried onions and mayo on my burgers. Once in a while avocado is good too.

Megan - You will have to send that recipe to me…. Jo i do like mayo sometimes… depends on the burger and the bun. I never tried avacado though… i might just do that… grilled burgers I like pineapple as well.
Krista… I never tried hot peppers either… I have a lot of eating to do and I will report back.

My ‘musts’ are mayo, cheese, caramelized onions, and avocado! I agree with your moderation rule!

I almost spewed my beer all over the computer when I read your title…I LOVE IT! My must have’s are cheese, lettuce, a tiny bit of mayo and onions. You have to have fry sauce with your french fries (a combination of mayo and ketchup…I add a little onion salt to add additional flavor).

Mmmmm. Gosh, Fall is definitely coming! All of a sudden, I’m hungry with a capital “H”!
For me, I love a burger with artery-clogging amounts of super crispy bacon and loads of stinky blue cheese. That’s got to be my all-time favorite.

Lately, I’ve been putting cheddar cheese, carmelized onions, and barbecue on my burgers. And, there’s a deli near my office that has a burger called the “Texas Burger” that’s pretty lethal but delicious: American cheese, lettuce, tomato, barbecue sauce, and a fried egg. I’ve been trying to convince them that they need to top it all over with a singular fried onion, but they haven’t adapted their recipe yet.

I recently discovered I like sliced avacado on my burgers with some of my homemade salsa. The first time I tried it, the avacado slices kinda fell out, so thereafter I make a quick “paste” and put it on the top of my bun. SO GOOD!

In general, you can’t go wrong with a buger that has good cheedar cheese and crispy bacon on top. I’m also a big fan of the “Triple-O” sauce on my burgers from White Spot, a restaurant chain here in BC. In fact, I’d say they make my favourite burgers! Oh, and you must have a slice or 2 of crunchy dill pickles to go with. Mmmmm!
