This time of year one may loosen their belt a little and indulge, right? For me, I am not sure I loosen my belt – I might just push the pants down a little lower to sit under the belly… but that may be too much info. Regardless I wanted to share with you a few awesome recipes from some blogger friends that will make your mouth water. I have been reading each of these blogs for a while and needless to say I am impressed with their work, their food and of course their photography.

When you say cookies and cream cheesecake bars… what immediately goes off in your head? Amazing? Yeah I thought so. Take a look at this… Jessica rocks out this Oreo dessert and I am sure would be a hit at any holiday potluck you ever had to attend.
Picky Palate
Can you really go through the festive Christmas season without a little peppermint in your life? Feast your eyes on this treat that will have people caroling for hours after they leave your house. Seriously… I think I have to make these treats.

For me when you say Chocolate…. I kind of get excited. Chocolate bread… gets me even more psyched. But when you combine chocolate and zucchini – it seems that you should be able to eat a bunch of slices because it has vegetables in it…. so I normally do. Oh She Glows
I am a sucker for oatmeal based desserts and these Berry Bliss Bars are no exception. I would literally eat 3-4 squares of this treat before the sand timer would elapse on a board game. These look delicious! Even reading the details, they are somewhat healthy – what is up with that? Super deal. Whip these up in your kitchen and let me know what you think.

My fav holiday dish is a dessert made with chocolate cookie crumbs, a layer of chocolate filling, another layer with whipped cream and marshmallows and finally topped with crushed peppermint sticks. Yum!
The first thing I’d made is a hot milk cake recipe I have that requires a large bowl because of the volume. Either that or homemade bread.
My favorite movie is Miracle on 34th Street (the one with Maureen O’Hara)

May sound silly but my favorite holiday movie is A Charlie Brown Christmas because my kids loved it &lokked forward to it so much. Now my 4yo granddaughter has been watching the DVD since weekend after Thanksgiving (she doesn’t have to wait for once a yr) but she loves it just as much & I had fun watching with her & her younger brother when visiting. Took me back right away

My favorite tradition is going to church Christmas Eve when the children’s patent was put on (long after my kids were too old to participate). I loved watching all the young kids in it, then we always drove around to see Christmas lights. A neighborhood in town always put on large displays. Then we came home & all 4 kids got to open a new ornament for the tree tried to always have one that was somehow personal to them.
The first thing I think I would make is a 7 grain bread recipe I’ve made for years, it was developed by America’s Test Kitchen for a Stand mixer but the mixer I have can’t begin to handle it, so I end up doing it by hand. I’ve wanted a Kitchen Aid Mixer since I really started cooking more than 25 years.Thers always more important things to pay or buy.
It’s hard to pick a favorite holiday dish. My family’s are the chocolate &peanut butter fudges, truffles & snowball cookies I always make for them & as gifts, so I think they are my favorite to make. They don’t think it’s Christmas without them.
