Want a smoothie? Late for work? Too lazy to make a meal?

If so, I think I have a smoothie that will please your taste buds not too mention touch on a few food groups that will give you some much needed energy to get through those busy days.

Get it Together: Liquid Measures, measuring spoons, dry measures, blender, 2 glasses.

Ingredients

  • Milk (11/4 Cups)
  • Blueberries (1 Cup)
  • Raspberry Yogurt (1 Cup)
  • Orange Juice (1/3 Cup)
  • Ground Flax Seed ( 2 Tbsp)
  • Instant Vanilla Pudding Powder (2 Tbsp)

Method

Put all 5 ingredients in the blender. Cover with Lid. Blend until smooth.  Pour into glasses.  Makes about 3 1/2 cups – enough for 2.

I really hope you enjoy it and I would love to hear your blender creations.

Zesty Smoothie Tips

Use your favorite berry or whatever berry you have kicking around or even a combination.  I like blueberries for the anti-oxidants and the consistency and color they give.

For a simple flavor switch change out the yogurt or leave it out altogether if you don’t like it or don’t have it on hand.

Mmm, this looks delicious, and I love the addition of flax seeds, I*’ve been looking for ways to use them for their health benefits, and what better way than to add them to a healthy smoothie. :)

Thanks Corinne, Myself as well was always looking for ways to eat flax seed other than in a table spoon. This is definitely an easy way to sneak it in without anyone really noticing.

A smoothie is true life-saver. I usually use it primarily as breakfast. I do not digest dairy well so I substitute with 1/2 a banana for that creaminess.

I always make smoothies. They are easy and you can get your entire days servings of fruit. I’ve never tried the instant vanilla pudding, although sometimes I add sour cream.

To ZestyCook,
Regarding the Simple Berry Smoothie, where do I get Instant Vanilla Pudding Powder and does it contain healthful ingredients? And does the recipe come out like a pudding or smoothie? Would like to make it into a pudding? Appreciate your help.

Thanks for that. My son has a total aversion to eating fruit for some reason, so I made it into smoothies for him and then he loves it! I also found some great smoothie recipes here and thought I’d share – lots of other great ideas there.
