It’s Friday! Whoooooo Hoooooooo! Can you tell I am excited? The week went by super fast as per usual but I am just glad today is Friday and tomorrow morning will be low key and somewhat relaxed. Busy weekend in store with three birthday parties including zesty junior, who turns 5 on Sunday. On top of the birthdays, we have music lessons and some house stuff to get done.
Does everybody like smoothies? I am pretty sure most people would say yes! There has been a lot of chatter lately around the blog world regarding the green monster and the green monster movement. I have yet to try a true green monster but the other day I seemed to have the some ingredients that could resemble a “Red Monster”.
Let me know what you think about this one.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Frozen berries
- 1-2 Tbsp. Flax Seed
- 2 whole beets ( peeled and cooked )
- 1/2 Cup “real” cranberry juice
Method
- Prepare beets either use leftovers or ensure they are cool.
- Add frozen berries, cranberry juice to a blender and puree
- Add flax seeds and cooked beets
- Blend until you reach your desired consistency ( feel free to add a little water or more cranberry juice if need be)
- ENJOY!
Zesty Tip: When using frozen “anything” in the blender make sure to add a little liquid to aide in the blending process. Otherwise the fruit or ice will not get broken down as easily.
