How many recipes can there possibly be for a chocolate chip cookie? I mean, it’s the most simple, straightforward cookie recipe out there right? Au contraire. Not at all.
There are thousands and thousands of chocolate chip cookie recipes out there claiming to be the best. Chewy, soft, thick, crispy, thin, large, small, you name it. What makes mine stand apart from the rest? I add a secret little ingredient to make them so puffy. So thick. So soft. And SO chewy.
Cornstarch. Yep, cornstarch. It’s the cornstarch that gives these cookies an unbelievable lift. It keeps the cookies soft, even the next day – in fact, the cookies were SOFTER on day 2! Look at the beautiful wrinkly tops. The best part.
And what’s more? You’re going to find that this incredibly easy cookie recipe has the perfect ratio of chocolate chip to dough. We’re not overloading the cookies, we’re not skimping on the chips – 1 and 1/4 cups of semi-sweet chips is all you’ll need. I love chunks in my cookies, but I like to taste the dough too.
