Happy Tuesday! I am really hyper and excited as I write this post. Since I last updated you about the house progress – a lot of things have happened. But before I get into that – I have another fun question.
Do you watch food/cooking shows? Which is your favorite cooking show/personality? I have to know this… for some reason I am addicted to the food network and have a lot of favorites. Last year my favorite show was License to Grill with Rob Rainford. I also really enjoy a show called “The Main”. Tell me what your favorite is and or your favorite personality. I have always wondered if foodies enjoy the food network or if you just love to cook and eat!
Zesty House Update
As promised, below are some updated shots as the process moves forward. Let me know what you think.
Have a great day as always.
Take care

Congrats. on starting to build…great start you have there!
I really like The Food Network. I like Ina….she is so calm and I love her barn she put up. Bobby Flay can be so funny, especially in the throwdowns. And then there is The Next Food Network Star, Robert on Mission Impossibles….oh there are JUST too many…lol!!
Enjoy,

I’m addicted to the Food Network, haha – but I REALLY enjoy watching “Barefoot Contessa” and “Cooking For Real,” in particular.
Honestly I don’t watch any of them
I never have the TV, just this danged computer LOL And when hubby’s home, he is always watching logging shows and Deadliest Catch, so I really never see any of them.
I have caught a few episodes of The Take Home Chef and that was pretty cool. I’ve wanted to catch some of the others, but work doesn’t allow for it. So instead, I check out cookbooks from the library and visit the blogosphere
I love the Food Network and watch it A. LOT. (when Spongebob isn’t on, that is) But I love Barefoot Contessa, she’s right up my alley and even though she over-pronounces her Italian ingredients, I do love Giada.
I love Giada! Everything she makes looks so fresh and healthy…well except when she OD’s on the cheese. Seriously do you need to put parm on everything?! The recipes are pretty easy to veganize too.
Back when I had a full cable line-up, I watched Food Network ALL the TIME and drooled at all the things I thought I would never be able to cook! I love Alton Brown’s Good Eats–it’s so informative, and I love the format. The special he did last year called Feasting on Waves was amazing, and I also love Barefoot Contessa. I have a couple of her cookbooks. It’s my dream to have a garden like hers one day, and just casually mention how I grabbed these things fresh from my garden to cook…
I LOVE The Food Network Channel…it’s my go-to/default channel…even if it’s just for background noise. I love Giada on Everyday Italian.
I love food network almost as much as HGTV. My recent fav has been “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” with Guy Fieri (apparently season 1 winner of next food network star). I love seeing all the little mom and pop places around the country and Guy has the BEST personality…he seems like he would be your brother or best friend.
I am currently obsessed with the show CHOPPED!
As far as cooking shows go, I really like Giada and the Barefoot Contessa. But for a good laugh, I love me some Ace of Cakes
I really love all the Food Network cooking shows. Each show has a person with such a different personality–therefore different styles of food. I am currently lovin’ Sandra Lee!
I L O V E Jamie Oliver the English chef (especially before he turned into an Imperium). He was (is?) hyperactive, quick, enventful, laughable, sweet and works so nicely with his bare hands. He is certainly my coup of tea.
Anything with Alton Brown is brilliant, I love Good Eats!
House looks fantastic.. how exciting!
My favorite cooking show would be Paula Dean…..
Hmmm…it’s a toss up between Giada and Sandra Lee! I love them both!
Alton Brown is tops on my list. I loved Feasting on Asphalt because part of the country they filmed in was south Louisiana and I’m from New Orleans. I also love Good Eats – very informative and funny.
Wow, you guys have made some great progress! How exciting! Yes, I love the food network, and my favorite show is either Giada, Jamie Oliver (never play enough of his shows) or Molto Mario. I hate Sandra Lee or those reality shows, just give me the cooking please, and leave out the drama!
My favorite food show is “Secret of a Restaurant Chef” with Anne Burrell!!!
Check it out!!!
i’m in love with ina garten.
I have been addicted to the Food Network for a couple years, despite the fact that I’m not a creative cook.
In fact, I don’t even really like the “cooking” shows. My favorites are Unwrapped; Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives; Ace of Cakes; Throwdown, Next Food Network Star, etc.
Love me some Bobby Flay, Guy has a great personality, etc. That’s what makes the shows work!

paul dean for sure!
I like Alton Brown now, but for a long time thought he was annoying. I learn a lot from him! I also love Ina Garten’s classic approach.
Alton Brown’s Good Eats! I learn so much from it!
I love Giada. Everything she prepares looks delicious. I have bought her cookbooks and the recipes are great. Looking forward to trying some of your recipes as well. Awesome blog.
Food Network is my default channel–it’s always on in my house. My favorites include Ellie Krieger, Rachael Ray, and I watch The Next Food Network Star religiously.
I love Giada’s show Everything Italian – her food always looks SO GOOD. I made a raspberry rose pudding once that I saw on her show and it was delicious – my boyfriend appreciated that I made it for Valentine’s Day, too
I’m a Giada fan for sure. I also like the BBQ guy that you like and “The Main” but can’t stand Bobby Flay for some reason. His ego gets to me! I also like RR.
Looks like PEI soil to me! Yay for the foundation!
I am a huge fan of Food Network, but my all time favorite is Good Eats with Alton Brown!
I’ve been obsessed with Food Network for as long as I can remember! I started out watching Emeril, then I got hooked on Giada. My favorite recipes are probably from Rachael Ray and Robin Miller since they’re usually the easiest for weeknight meals. I also love the travel shows like Anthony Bourdain. I cannot STAND Sandra Lee though!
The Barefoot Contessa. No question about it- Ina Garten is my Food Network idol.
Not very unique, but I love Everyday Italian because it’s easiest for me to imagine cooking and eating the recipes that Giada showcases.
OOOO your house looks great so far!!!!
My favorite Food Network Star is Giada….she’s amazing and so pleasant to watch…I wish I could cook like her….I’m trying…hehe..
Have a great day.
Best,
Amie
The Healthy Apple
I love Giada’s recipes. She’s also so easy to relate to and a pleasure to watch. I have to admit I do watch my fair share of Food Network shows, but some of them really annoy me. For example, Barefoot Contessa’s “storylines”?! They are obviously acting out a fake, scripted, scenario and the acting is just painful to watch!!
Barefoot Contessa! LOVE it.
I adore the Food Network channel and here are my favorites:
Paula Deen
Barefoot Contessa
Everyday Italian
Can’t get enough of them – their recipes are real and you can make them without alot of talent or fuss. No exotic ingredients that you buy and can’t use again.
My favorite is Giada…Giada at Home, Everyday Italian, and Giada’s Weekend Getaways! She taught me how to cook. I love her. My second fave is Rachel Ray’s 30 minute meals. Food Network is my default channel. Its so soothing.
I think it’s pretty much a given that we’re all addicted to the food network – it makes for great background noise on the weekends
I can’t say I have a favourite show though.
My favorite show on Food Network is either Diners Drive Ins and Dives or Throwdown with Bobby Flay
Giada used to be my favorite, but now it’s the Barefoot Contessa!
the Barefoot Contessa, of course! She is so classic and elegant, and the perfect hostess in my opinion! love her!
For one-on-one cooking, Giada for sure! Other ones I love are Throwdown with Bobby Flay and Iron Chef!
I love DDD, and have been known to watch the same episode more than once. As far as cooking shows, I love Bobby Flay Throwdown! And Paula of course =)
I too am obsesses with the food network — I love them all. I especially enjoy Ina, Giada and Nigella, even though she seems to have disappeared. Wonder why, I love her relaxed style.
Alton Brown! I’ve learned sooooo much watching Good Eats! I really like Jamie Oliver’s approach to cooking too.
why is no one loving on tyler florence!?!? hes the ‘ultimate’.
and of course bobby flay is my little irish dreamboat. mmm.
Top Chef.
Hands Down.
Goodness you gotta make us choose our favorite?? Thats a hard one!
Maybe Giada and Paula..oh but wait, then there is Alton and Guy. Well hell I like them all!
I don’t know if I can pick one – sadly I LOVE just about any show on the Food Network! Lately I’ve been hooked on Iron Chef, Barefoot Contessa and the Next Food Network Star.
LOVE the house updates – they are making some serious progress – so fun!
I find myself always watching Food Network!
Giada, Next Food Network Star & Ace of Cakes have to be my top three!
Great work coming along on your house, must be so exciting!
I used to be a FN junkie, but I’ve found myself drifting away since it seems like a lot of the cooking they do is over the top and loaded with un-necessary cals, but I do still love watching Iron Chef! And I catch Aton Brown now and again to brush up on the science of food, since I am a scientist after all! haha.
I love Nigella’s shows! She is so interested in what she cooks and eats and I think the camera work makes the shows look so artistic!
top chef…and iron chef is an oldie but goodie, but lost its fun when they started making the american version…i still watch though
I love Nigella Lawson, Rachel Ray, and Curtis Stone. I always watch all of the cooking shows from them (e.g. Nigella Bites, Rachel Ray Show, and Taking Home Chef)!^^v
Jamie at Home
