What Is Your Ultimate Bowl Of Cereal!

by zesty on June 16, 2010 · 9 comments

What is in your ultimate bowl of cereal?  For me it is always a combination of flavors and textures and very rarely does it come from one box.  Sounds odd doesn’t it?  Well to be honest I am quite weird anyway so it seems a perfect match.

How do you like your cereal – crunchy or soggy? I was always a big fan of soggy cereal when I was younger especially Raisin Bran and Shreddies.  I think I have grown to like more of the crunch now but love the addition of berries, nuts and raisins in the cereal as well.  I could eat cereal anytime of the day and often devour a bowl in the evening if I have no chips and chocolate left.

Here is the mix I put together today.

Ingredients

  • Kashi Cinnamon Harvest
  • Kashi Toasted Berry Crumble
  • Kashi Honey Puffed
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Skim milk

Tell me your favorite cereal and or cereal combination.  Crazy as you want and as colorful as you want.  Let me know.

Have an awesome Wednesday and I will see you on Friday.  My latest release inside the G! hits shelves tomorrow and the theme is finding your summer sweet spot.  I hit the spot with some grilling.

Take care

zesty

i am the same way. my fav. breakfast never comes from one box. usually a mixture of puffins, kashi heart to heart or go lean (not crunch, too much sugar) and natures path organic heritage flakes. blueberries and strawberries always and almond milk or skim. mmmmmmm i heart cereal.

I like cereal simple!

I never just have cereal for actual breakfast anymore because it never fills me up.

But if I do have a bowl, I like to have some of my favorite childhood cereals or some newer ones that I’ve grown to love:
Cocoa Krispies
Peanut Butter Puffins
Cinnamon Toast Crunch/Cascadian Farms version that’s a bit better for me.

I love a big bowl of Kashi GoLean (my all-time favorite cereal) with wheat germ, walnuts, blueberries, and soymilk. YUM.

I read a while back that you were Canadian, and managed to forget that detail until you mentioned Shreddies! I love them and always buy a box in the summer-I would always stack my Shreddies with peanut butter in the morning as a kid and like to go back there on lazy summer mornings!

My fav cereal mix is Natures Path Heritage Flakes, Cheerios, Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Rice Crispies with some granola or bran buds on top- I always have one of those cereal tupperware things filled with some mix like that- so good!

I have found the ultimate cereal bowl. It’s a mix of:

-Nature’s Path Crispy Rice
-Nature’s Path Multigrain Oat Bran
-half a banana
-bunch of blueberries and raspberries
-freshly chopped plain almonds
-skimmed milk or rice or soy milk

These guys stand up to milk like nothing else. I’m so glad because I hate soggy cereal!

I love mixing millet, Annie’s fruity bunnies and LIFE cereal together. There is some magic to that mix. Oh, and you must top with almond milk to bring out the perfect flavor of the millet.

The other day I mixed up some Kashi Honey Puffed, Kashi Honey Almond Flax, mango, strawberries, milk, and peanut butter, and it was amazing. So let’s go with that as my current favourite mix :)

Yum, yum! I love to mix cereals and call it “cereal suicide” (remember mixing sodas and calling it suicide??). This combination looks awesome! I also like mixing different kinds of Cheerios with a splash of light Silk vanilla soy milk!

I like mixing the Kirkland cereals with the flax granola cereal they sell. When it comes to cereals, you HAVE to mix…you just HAVE to. :) I also REALLY dig Honey Nut Cheerios with craisins….hmmmmmmm.
